Manufacturing/IT Support Specialist

  • Responsible for regular maintenance and operation of all IT assets.
  • Responsible for management of an internal Manufacturing domain with Active Directory and 50 workstations.
  • Backup solution used CA ArcServe with a GFS rotation and off-site storage.
  • Used and developed a custom RIS setup to quickly deploy new stations and to perform ghosting on clients with no floppy or CD-ROM.
  • Maintained and updated legacy applications in a variety of languages including Visual Basic and ASP. Maintained installations of Internet Information Services. Created some utilities with PHP and MySQL.
  • Reorganized the server room, including removal of old coaxial cable, consolidation of existing equipment, and removal of an unneeded rack.
  • Performed upgrades and maintenance to Cisco switches plant-wide, including the installation of new core switches, rewiring of the main network racks and installation of a cable management system for the patch cables. Implemented trunking and VLANs.
  • Installed and configured a Nagios monitoring system with email and text messaging with Cacti bandwidth monitoring.
